Hi very new to this kind of Question asking also still an internet Virgin,so go careful.I have a 1995 Celica st202 auto.when you drive the car hard the car pulls away great ,when the rev counter reaches the red line the limiter comes in,back off the pedal and it changes gear.Things I have tried.changed fluid.removed the sump and cleaned the gauze filter out.Was told by Main dealer that there was no filter in the box?(this had become loose at some time in the cars life because it was not bolted up inside the box).I know that there are at least 5 sensors on the box,Iam trying to avoid paying main dealer prices to have the car put on the machine, If any one has had a problem like this then advice would be welcome. The car is an imported cabriolet so selling is not an option.

What's the Transmission code of the gearbox?? It will show it on the

VIN plate under the bonnet. eg A140E,A240E.

I would start by checking for any fault codes stored in the ECT ECU if

you think you have a problem with the Trans. solenoids,TPS or speed sensors:

Switch Ignition on

Press O/D switch on (make sure O/D warning light is lit on dash)

Connect Terminals TE1 and E1 on Diagnostic Link.

Check O/D warning light for "blink code".

Use the on- board DLC 1 connector under the bonnet to check the codes.
