The front seats in our Verso squeek like mad for no apparent reason ;) lateral movement is the worst culprit and I just wondered whether anybody else has experienced the same problem and what the solution might be...?

Tips welcomed

My local garage took the seat out and put it back in. That seemed to sort out the problem.....

I have a 2003 RAV 4 and it did similar things. I found that if the seat in question had height adjustment then spraying WD40 on mechanism, coiled spring. (dial,on mine) that controls height adjustment from bottom setting to top heighjt setting at various times then going up and down alot seemed to cure the problem for up to 1 year and redo if req.

Faceless

If the seats are all you've got squeaking then you're doing well, you should come for a spin in mine...

Cheers.

Seats in mine are absolutely fine, but I did have a had a new clutch master cylinder fitted a couple of weeks ago due to a squeak when letting the clutch out, unfortunately the new one is as bad as the old one, but Listetrs say modified part might be available soon and are quite willng to change it again

The main problem with rattles in mine is the retractable parcel shelf, it took me a couple of trips to pin it down, but as soon as I remove it, all of the rattles from the rear of the car stop.

Problem is not because of the springs. (Back side of your seat) The foam pad under the cover contacts with your headrest interior metal linings.

Get your vehicle to your service. He/she will open up the cover of back of the seat, will put his/her arm inside, find metal linings where headrest chrome legs get into and sprey the surrounding area. Use teflon spray.

That is the solution.
