Annoying Lights

It was 3°c today when I drove to work, and the 'ice warning' lights came up. I pressed the trip computer switch and the display went back to normal. However a few seconds later it came back on. The warnings only disappeared when the temp reached 4°c. Do I have to put up with this. It's a bit annoying to look down to see the orange triangle lit up, and also the dot matrix display practically all orange. When winter really sets in, will these warnings be permenant?

If the temperature is already below 4C when starting up (as it was on a frosty morning several days ago) there's no warning at all - I guess you don't need to be warned as you already know it's cold! I'm not sure if it will come on if the temperature warms up to 4C and then drops again.

I agree it's annoying to have the warning on all the time if it gets cold whilst driving - especially at this time of the year when the temperature hovers in the 3-4C range. There needs to be some sort of hysteresis built in.

Funny the same thing happened to me on Sunday morning. I was going over to Oldham from Halifax about 8am and low behold on comes ICE Warning came on all the journey. It was 3c and only went off once the whole journey. It does work as I keeped my speed low the whole journey.
