Lucida Engine Very Noisy After Head Gasket Replacement, Any Suggestion

Hi all,

I would be very grateful if anyone could make any suggestions to fix the problems I am experiencing with my Lucida.

A few weeks back the radiator of my Lucida 2.2TD 1992 was leaking and the engine overheated blowing the head gasket.

I had the radiator replaced with a reconditioned one; the head gasket kit replaced and the head cylinder pressure tested to check for cracks, it was fine. Also had the timing belt conveniently renewed at the same time.

I now have the following problems:

1) The turbo doesn’t seem to be working any more, only the green light flickers occasionally.

2) The engine makes a terrible sound and rattles a lot, especially when accelerating and up hill.

3) The oil lamp on the dashboard flickers, what does this mean?

The mechanic who has carried out the work is fairly competent, so he says… Could he have damaged the turbo or badly re-fitted the head cylinder? Is there anything I can tell him to check?

Thanks

Rob

:) This may sound daft but have you checked the oil?
