New Keyfob

The arm button on my keyfob has finally decided to give up. I now have to hold it down for 1-2mins before it will work (B) smooth)but the disarm button is fine. I opened it up and it seems the botton on the circuit board is damaged and it doesn't click anymore. Tried to clean it with some acetone, in case there was greasy !Removed! stuck in it but no luck.

Anyway, my question is do I have to buy one off Mr. T and have him reprogramme it? or can I buy one off eBay (i've seen a few but not sure if they are the right ones) and reprogramme it myself.

I've seen that post by sotal on reprogramming these but that was a fob that had been originally matched to your car hadn't it!

BTW its the two button roundy one for the TVSS alarm/immob

The post I did only works for original remotes. Otherwise anyone could buy one from eBay and unlock other peoples cars. No idea if there is anyway to add a new remote though.

It would probably be easier and possibly cheaper to replace the alarm with a better one

I thought there was something you could do with the key in the ignition, which would mean you need to have the correct key to reprogramme the fob. I'll prob just leave it to the next owner as i'm selling it soon.
