Exhaust Advice Please!

Hey peeps,

As some of you may know, i'm in the process of trying to change my stock exhaust, I have bought an Aussie 3" DP, unfitted as yet...

I've been in contact with someone that can make me a complete custom system, with sports cat, for a good price... :D

My question is - Will a 2.5" system be ok for air flow? or should I go for something bigger? Or even smaller?

Thanks

Mike :)

There are many people who argue back and forth on this subject... lol

Id say 3" has always been popular...

For the stock turbo 2.5" is fine you not notice the difference between 3" and 2.5" at the power levels attainable with the stock turbo and you need to consider the risk of boost creep with a full 3" system.

If you planning on going for a turbo upgrade and above 330BHP in the near future then go 3" and put a restricter ring in to hold the creep back until you get the new turbo.

Basically if you planning on going much above 300 you need 3" to get the best out of it, if you aim for around 300 then you get a few extra bhp on the top end with a 3" over a 2.5" but nothing that you'd actuall notice and you'll probably make more torque in the low end with the 2.5"
