Heated Seats

i was wondering why toyota don't fit heated seats in the new avensis - especially when they're leather?

a friend works for toyota and says that they definitely build some avensis's with heated seats and they must be for other countries... so my question is - does anyone know if the UK car's come with the heating element but they just aren't wired up?

Leather seats here (Netherlands) are always heated.
