How big is the boot of a Yaris???

Thinking of getting one, but don't know if the dog will fit in the boot as it doesn't seem to big.

He's a German Shephard pup, so not to big just now, but growing fast.

Do you think it can be done or should I just go for something bigger?

With the rear seats slid forward the boot is surprisingly roomy.

Not sure about fitting an Alsatian in there though!

Stick him on the back seats (with covers on of course)

Or take him down to Mr T’s and do a boot test

I dont see it being a problem with the rear seats forward, that's how I have mine at the moment and I know I could fit my Brothers Irish Red Setter in there.... :)

PS: you wont be able to have any passengers on the rear seat the same time though, unless they want seriously cramped leg room!

To be honest, I would not even put my cats in the boot, its just not big enough and not fair on them (and they arent even big cats!) so I would say its definitely going to be too small for an Alsatian pup, just my opinion though.

I would get him a doggy seatbelt and have him on the rear seats - much more room for him that way or alternatively, get a Verso!

Top one, £16.99 for Alsatian, bargain!

Or remove rear seats when the dog has to travel in it if he doesn't come in that often? Very easy to do just four 14mm bolts if i remember correctly! Then you will have loads of space!

I have 2 border collies and they can get in the boot of the car no problem when the seats are pushed forward however i usally just fold the back seats down to give them lots of space and they seem to like to be able to see where they are going!

Just means you wouldnt be able to have any other passengers in the back.

Or 2 unique-fit-tool-from-toyota-torx-headed-sods which took me about a fortnight to get out. Then replace with 2 Jap spec bolts. Dog guard across and you're done!

Seriously though, if you don't want to do that then sliding the seats forward may not be quite large enough even in the medium term.

Corolla?

I have a 2006 Yaris and my 6 yr old labrador fits in the boot no problem, without the back seats down or slid forward. She can also turn around by shuffling so i'd imagine a german shepherd would be fine (maybe not be able to turn though)

I do remove the parcel shelf and the flat boot cover so that she sits a bit lower down but thats just so she doesnt get hairs all over the headrests by leaning on them! Also have a ramp so she doesnt scratch the car jumping in and out

can take a pic if it'll give you an idea of the size....?
