No Corolla For Me Over Xmas

Some of you may know that my Corolla was involved in an "incident" with a Vauxhall Vectra last month - Okay it was my stupid fault (I turned in on the parked car). Nevertheless my Corolla now has a rather leering dent in the left side front wing. Luckily I'm allright for insurance (fully comp - NCB protected) so my wallet only has to take a £250 hit. Total repair is estimated at £1000.

Anyway, I booked my Corolla in at the garage affiliated with my Toyota dealer and obviously they're gonna be busy over the festive period but they are collecting my car next Friday (15th) and delivering a Toyota Yaris for me to use until my car is ready (which will probably be after new year) Plus they will MOT it too for £50 quid extra.

The ironic thing is my In-Laws are giving me leather seat covers for Xmas - and of course I won't be able to use them till I get the car back!

I'm quite taken with the Yaris they gave me! It's only a 1L engine but it goes

The raised driving position takes a bit of getting used to, totally different to the E11 Corolla's lower profile.

The dash display rocks, I love the digi readout speedo and tacho. Plus unlike my car, it has remote locking too (buttons )

A very tidy motor, and in fact if I didn't want a Celica so badly, I'd seriously consider the Yaris as a future car.

Got used to driving it after about 10minutes at the wheel, very easy getting settled in with it - I'll almost be dissapointed to give it back :P (But I miss my own Rolla)

All being well she shall return on the 29th, fixed and gleaming as new.
