No Radio Reception.....

Hi. My mum has a problem with a lack of radio recption on here 1ltr yaris gs (w reg).

I'm aware that this is a commen problem and that ther are peaple selling these radios on the bay (e bay).

Is ther any perticular company that is good for supplying these yaris radios. Any one know how much toyota charge to cure this problem

Hi,

There is a salvage yard in colchester thats pretty good (good value also) called Autobreak.

There website is www.autobreak.co.uk (which has all there details on) and they have a yaris in at the moment.

There stuff sells pretty quick though so best to call them soon if its not far away.

TBH I haven't heard of it being a well know problem and I don't think splashing out £80-£140 on a new unit would solve your problem.

I take it that you have the orignal aerial fitted and not a bee-sting type aerial, as with the smaller type aerials it is more difficult to pick up a signal.

Best thing to do would be to take it to an audio specialist or Toyota and get them to diagnose the problem !

I would take a guess at he aerial being damaged or the base which is basically the amplifier for the signal.

Thanks peaple. Def the radio playing up not the aerial. Disconect the aerial and you get nuffin put it back on and you can just about make out what song it is thats playing.

Apparently its the am/fm amp that they put in for us brits or euro peaple.
