Full tank on motorway about 300 miles for me..

Round town...

..... gash.

Fuel economy round town, stopping/starting putting your foot down is nasty, even on an na.. welcome to the club!

I can't really remember very well, but I'm sure I got just over 200miles to the tank on my turbo.

On my 1990 NA, I get:

Mainly motorway driving+mixed: 340 miles -> 34mpg

Mainly city driving+mixed: 270 miles -> 27mpg

I think it can get even worse than that if you did all city driving. I'm sure it could go down to 230 easily.

By the way, my car is (apparently) running rich, so I'm sure I could get even better MPG with a nice new O2 sensor!!

15x does seem a little low though doesnt it?

maybe check the break callipers and see if you got one or more stuck on?

Your definately not getting as many miles as you should for a full tank. the lowest I get round town is 200 miles but I have had as many as 370 on the motorway.

Anyway, I'd check to see if one of your brake calipers has siezed (a common problem on the MR2 apparently) and also check that your tire pressures are correct.

I dont think the problem will be rich mixture but just to make sure take one of the sparkplugs out and have a look at the colour, if the mixture is rich the centre part of the plug will look black. If you are running rich check the O2 sensor and the manifold pressure sensor.

You will notice a massive difference in handling too!

I run 28 on front and 34 on back.

Yep, I'm pretty sure that was the problem then. My tires usually need a top up about once a month so its worth checking the pressure regularly.

i think i got 29 on front and 31 on the back, but gosh 154 from a non turbo? i get around 180-200 a tank with just round the town driving, havent really tested it on motorways yet but im sure it will go down just as quick lol.
