sorry to drag this back from the back of beyond but thought i'd report my findings on this

Well I went ahead and got one of these induction kits and I just don't see how on earth it'll fit. When it arrived its got MR2 and Corolla on the box and hand written Avensis. So think I shall see if I can return this.

So having seen Corolla on the box and Avensis written on it got me thinking (dangerous thing that) is a Corolla VVTi set up much like the Avensis? After searching the web and looking at induction kits for the Corolla, particularly the K&N typhoon, it looks like the right shape and should fit.

So my question is has anybody fitted or tried to fit a Corolla induction kit to an Avensis?

This is the solution i'm looking at, the American Pontiac Vibe uses the Toyota 1.8 vvti (Vibe GT uses the 1.8l vvtli from celica). Below is a link to the K and N site and a picture from the Vibe owners forum.

Hope this helps, I have also looked at the corrola option which I will try first as these are easier to source in the UK. If you do this before me let know if the corrola one works and get some pics up.

I will certainly put some pictures up if I get there first and perhaps you could post some if you beat me. As it may be a while before I get one as its a little more expensive than the one I got from eBay.

Also K&N list 2 kits for the Corolla 69-8600 and 69-8751 (intrestingly the 69-8600 for the Corolla and the Vibe) and as far as I can see the major difference is the hose that connects to the throttle body one being straight the other stepped. So what we need to find out is what size these hoses are so we know which kit we need to fit our cars.
