I've a 1999 Avensis estate. The tailgate courtesy light has stopped working, with no power to lamp holder. Can anyone tell me the location of the switch which operates the light when the tailgate is opened? I can't find it anywhere.

If you have no power to the light then it won't be the switch cos they only switch the earth. I believe the switch is a mercury switch within the tail gate. Have you checked the fuses? Is everything else working cos normally theres more that one thing on a fuse?
