Distributor Blowing Fuses: Igniter?

I have a distributor on an '88 Camry that blows the 30 amp fuse mounted by the Battery. I've narrowed the problem to the distributor by putting this distributor in another Camry, where it blew that fuse as well. I've checked the distributor's wiring and see no shorts. The coil checks okay with an ohmmeter and the condenser charges and discharges as I would expect. The only other component (I think) is the igniter--can this cause a short, and how do I test it?
