How To Upgrade Cd/cass Player On Hi-lux Surf

I need to change the factory CD/Cassette player that is currently in a Japanese import I bought recently.

The CD player does not work seem to be working properly, as soon as the CD is inserted it almost immediately gets rejected. If the CD player worked I would have just put a band expander in as a quick solution to get up an running.

The next solution is to replace the unit altogether. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? Do I need facia adapters etc? Where can I get these from?

Any help in this area would be appreciated.

I replaced the player in my car with a sony xplod.

For the emplty space below the player, i got a pocket from a second-hand spare shop and had the guys who fitted the stereo put it in for me.

They had plates with toyota written on them as an alternative.

Cheers :)

That sounds like the best option, get the CD player I want and plate the remaining space

I definitely haven't been a teacher unless that was in a past life ;)

I've finally have opted for a Sony MP3 Player with a 10 x Changer, blanking tray and suitable ISO cable adapter. Thanks for your help guys :)
