They were on eBay last week! The led ones, i bidded up to £30 because i was gonna tint them black and hopefully make them look ok and if not wasnt that much money wasted!

Maybe you should tint them so they dont stand out as much?!

I like them; and I like the other ones too :) Where did you get them from? :D

But about the half back view picture of your Yaris...don't know, but it seems a little strage to me. I think it's about the wheels. They are 155/80R13?

And fit wheel covers. Any of them, 'cause it looks horrible without!

I bought them in UK :)

Yes, thats tru, I have fitted now 155/80R13 wheels with winter tyres:) because now we have a winter, after winter I'm going to suit my 17" alloys:)

I drive without wheelies because, they can be stolen or I can damage them... :)

Tinted gash lights is the way forward :P Got the idea to tint my lexus lights from tim and mine look much better :D Also didnt you have a green car FOKA? Looks very blue in pics so i'm confused! Also the green car with those green tinted lights looked pretty cool to me and these look pretty chav. To me the car has chav mirrors, steel wheels n chav lights. The lights look like they first added in LED's because they are "in" and "cool" and then bunged in the rest! Sorry! But yeah liked it before mate

Hi Foka,

basically mine we're the same as yours before I tinted them.

I bought them when I still had a silver GLS so they looked ok then.

When I put them on the red T-sport they just looked poo.

Its not too difficult to tint them. Get a can of tinting spray-

I used this - Savage Tinting Spray

Clean them off first.

Just mask off the centre area (when you look at it you'll see there's allready a good line to follow

which is also a nice place for the paint to sit to stop it from cracking)

Then spray as many coates as you want (the more you spray the darker it gets. Id recommend about 2-4...

If you wanted to protect the lights spray the whole lot with a couple of coats of clear laquer.

Hope that helps ;)

  • 4 weeks later...

would it be better to spray the tint spray onto the back of the lens because then it would still be super smooth on the outside?

i saw a cheapo set of lexus lights on eBay but if i tinted the lenses black it would look cool lit up with the circles...

Dont think anyone has tried tinting from inside before mate!

i reckon if you spray the tint into the inside of the lens from the back (having first masked off all of the outside) you would get a way better tint which was super smooth finish from the outside and it would be just as evenly tinted too.

Does it actually leave a smooth finish when you spray it over the outside of the lens? Ive always sort of assumed that everyone sprays it into the inside so that the outside stays smooth.

I sprayed the outside and stayed smooth :D Could always laquer it for super smoothness :D It is easier to do on the outside as you can easily see and control what part of the lamp it covers  I have a set of tinted lexus lights and i think they look pretty cool when they light up :) Also were easy to keep an even tinting with standard lens tinting spray from local car shop!

i would wanna cover the whole lamp though. ill probably get an old lens from somewhere and try it, ii just seems to me that it would be difficult to get a good finish with a spray can spraying onto the inside. whereas if you spray it inside the outside remains the standard super smooth plastic. if i ever get round to it ill post it up lol. theres a cheap set of lexus lights on eBay but i duno if ill go for it or not. mite tint the standard lights.

you got pics of your lights woody?

Hey,

I Was just thinking as if you tint outside you may not be able to get right up to the edge as the glue and that is there! Believe me it will be easier to do the outside SPECIALLY if you're spraying it all! My finish isn't the high gloss super smooth of the original BUT if you used laquer over the top it definately would be :D

Below are some pics of mine to give a rough idea. As you can see, even againt my freshly waxed paintwork they still look pretty darn glossy and that is without ANY layers of laquer! You could just use many layers of laquer to keep building up a super glossy look  I know you're thinking of black tinting instead of red tinting but same kind of idea!
