Hi guys

I wonder if you could help me. Ive got a friend who lived in the states many years and is always whinning about his manual gearbox in his GT4. He wants me to put an Auto gearbox in his GT4 is this possible or not?

If it is what do I have to do, what auto gearbox would you guys recommend.

Personally speaking I think he must be a chav if he wants to spoil a perfectly looking GT4 !

Thanks Guys

Why Why Why Why Why, If he doesn't like it with a manual then he doesn't diserve it.... :P

More constructively Toyota Never did a GT4 auto so there's not really any bolt on options, I recall someone looking into this in the past and coming up blank as the only auto box he could find to fit was rated lower than a stock gt4 power output and general consensus was the strain of the 4 wheel drive system would rip it in half...

Its possible to do. You'll need a Caldina GT4 gearbox and running gear. Is it worth it?.....no......

It is if hes willing to pay the price which of course he is =)

Hes a fat lazy american with too much much money to spend. So what he wants he gets no matter what the cost.

Its good that he doesnt mind how much its gonna cost as he's looking at probabaly multiple thousands to do it.

Sourcing a used gearbox and drivetrain is going to be almost impossible so he'll need to get it all new from toyota if he wants to get it done within a reasonable timeframe. Also he'll need a Caldina GT4 ECU, Loom....and a few other bits possibly fabbed up.

i'd expect a conversion like that to cost around £3-4k at the least
