Hi All,

I Just bought my new Carina 1996 1.8 E series CD AUTO.

But, I have one difficulty. That is I could take one master key and remote control from the previous owner. Is there any way to make one more Master key and remote control for my wife?

The cheapest way is to take your key to a specialist auto key cutter. They will be able to 'clone' your master key. Your model is fitted with an encrypted transponder (probably a Texas 4C chip). A cloned key mimics this transponder chip and has in inbedded Battery back-up. They cost around £50 a piece.

They will not operate as a remote (central locking/alarm key) but will merely start your car. A Dealer can create a second master key which has all the functions but this will cost £150+.

They distribute the machines which do the business. They should be able to direct you to one of their local customers. I think the 'Silca RW2' machine is the one which is capable of cloning the key you need.
