Hi, today i fitted the kit. It sounds AWESOME  proper growly :D

Here's the Setup, i have a heat shield on it to try to stop it sucking in hot air:

Now the thing is, the heat shield stops me being able to point the cold air feed from under the car straight at the filter so it kinda just points across it:

Is this a problem?

Also if anyone has fitted one of these, did you use the two small hose clamps? i think they're for the breather tubes, but not sure what they're for.

not really a problem but the more cold air the better. Did you know that there is no cold air coming through the feed from the wing? if you folloe the pipe it goes down to a resonator box. you need to make your own cool air feed like this:

your will be slightl different as the pics are from a 205 rather than a 202. hth

Thanks for that,

Wow, i've never looked in there, i'm surprised the thing got any air into it at all with the box on

I might get the wheel arch lining off tomorrow and have a poke about, so where does the air get into this resonator box in the wing? does it just draw it from inside there?

its quite hard to describe... but the black bit of pipe u can see in your pic goes down to a resonator box, but also branches off a 2nd route to face straight towards the wing. as you can imagine there isnt much air going into the wing and then doing a 90 degree turn into this pipe :P

the best thing to do is to remove the resonator box and then add an aluminium pipe to the front of your car somewhere, which joins onto the black bit of pipe the resonator box was attached to. hope all that made sence :)

i will try and get some pics of mine for you 2moro ;)

Well, i have done a bit of an experiment:

I took the heat shield off and went for a blast:

It was NOTICABLY better. Better throttle response and afterwards the Intake pipe from the filter to the throttle body was CONSIDERABLY cooler.

Seems the heat shields usefulness is a bit of a myth. Aiming the cool air feed straight at the filter makes all the difference!

i dont think the heat shield is a myth , look a dak's thats a proper heat shield , yours was a bit small i think , not very effective ? but yeah the more cold air getting at it the better
