2006 Rav4 Wheel Recall.

My question does the 2006 RAV4 have steel wheels ? anyway see recall below...

Description: Road wheel spokes may crack and separate

VIN: JTEYG20V#00001271 to JTEYG20V#00026075, JtheG20V#00002183 to JtheG20V#00075031

Build Date:

Numbers: 851

Defect: It has been identified that steel wheels of insufficient strength have been fitted to some grades of RAV4 vehicles fitted with diesel engines. The possibility then exists that a crack may appear on the spoke(s) of the wheel which in the worst case could cause the spoke to separate.

Action: Affected vehicles will have their wheels replaced with those of an improved quality.

BOB,

This recall appears to concern Ravs built between 2001 and 2004 which have steel wheels. I believe only the NV model had these as others were fitted with alloys.
