Abs Warning Light

Hi,

The ABS warning light on my wifes 2001 Rav-4 has been coming on recently. Does anyone know where I should start checking for a fault, and is this relatively normal as there doesn't seem to be any other posts about this on here!

Does the ABS work off all 4 wheels or just two of them and I assume there must be some sort of sensor that could be faulty.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Lee,

Each wheel normally has a sensor , these sensors can just pack up. They fit onto the brake hub and are wired back to the ABS control unit. They are normally just over £100. Linking the car up to a diagnostic computer will normally tell you which sensor is at fault.
