Beefing Up Engine

I've had to swap the original 3SFE engine in my RAV (had since new in 1994) - the original engine seized after 170k miles. I've put in another 2nd hand 3SFE which runs not too badly. However, as before power in mid/upper range is poor for things like overtaking so I'm looking at swapping for a 3SGTE turbo engine from an MR2 '94 range. Anybody know of anyone who has attempted same? I've trawled web but haven't found anything so far. far as I know the block size is almost identical, and my local racing engine garage reckons its possible to squeeze in the extra bits.

thanks

Ian

In Japan they had two choices of engine fitted to the early RAV4 , 3S-FE (as in UK spec ) and a 3S-GE as fitted in the 94-99 celica GT, so i would think its possible to fit a celica engine without to much trouble , sound like you may have to be the Guinea Pig to find out if it can be done....good luck.

cant see why it wouldnt work, you will need to swap some stuff over but as they are both 3S series engines it will fit
