Hi all :yahoo::help:

Does anyone out there know how to change the headlight bulbs WITHOUT having to go to greedy MR T :ffs:

I have taken the covers off in the engine compartment and propably be able to change the passenger side bulb...but how the :censor: are you meant to change the driver side one...the :censor: washerbottle is in the way big time!

Surley you dont have to take the fron bumber off just to replace a light bulb???? :eek: if you do...does anyone have a step by step description of taking the bumper off???

Dont think I will be keeping this car to much longer....friggin pain in the :censor:

Cheers

Rob :help:

I am told the best way is to remove the front bumper. There is a thread on here that details how to do it without removing the bumper but be prepared for grazed knuckles and the risk of breaking the bulb holder.

Dealers charge anything up to £70 to change the drivers side bulb.

I gave up in the end...me hands just about fit in the gaps provided and I did scratch them to :censor: !

I felt my temper :ffs: go and thought this is time to accept defeat and took the bulbs back to Halfords....

If I knew how to take the bumper off I would have done it, what a crap design....! I am sure that the user handbook was printed before the car was built....there is no way (unless you are a kid or dwarf with small hands) one can change the bulbs out...

Anyway...TIS Christmas .......... :yahoo: HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY :yahoo:

and if you dont celebrate Christmas...have a fab day anyway! :thumbsup:

  • 2 weeks later...

I was advised by the dealership to take the bumper off as it is a design fault and in the garage that is what they do. Apparently it is very easy to break the unit trying through the bonnet and that will cost a lot more.

Hope this helps
