Celica Gen 7 And Road Camber

I've not had any kind of 'sporty' car before my gen 7 (2003), so I've got no idea if this is normal or not - please let me know!

At first, I thought the tracking was very slightly out as the car seemed to drift to the left when I let go of the wheel. However, the tires didn't show any sign of scrubbing, and I got the car (a couple of weeks ago now) from a Toyota dealer who had performed their various checks, a full service, etc.

I then tried the car on one of the few roads around here that slopes to the right instead of the left, and found that now the car was drifting right instead. I phoned the dealer and they said if the tire pressures are low this can happen, but I've now checked them and they're all where they should be.

So, is this tendency to follow the road just normal behaviour for a car with more 'sporty' suspension? Or should it be neutral, as with my previous cars?

Have you got 17" wheels? if so you will probably have at least a 205 width tyre, which when you have tyres of similar width or wider fitted, you do find that the car will try to follow the contours of the road quite a bit. Its normal and I wouldn't worry about it :)

As long as you know the tracking is right its ok, it just keeps you on your toes :thumbsup:

It just has the standard wheels/tires for the 140, but the tires may well be thicker than on the cars I've had before (a Micra and a Colt). From what you're saying it sounds like this is normal behaviour.

Oh, and HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

Yeah, wouldn't worry about it fella... I get pulled all over the place on some of the more heavily used roads - motorways are fun on the inside lane, trying to get in and out of the lorry tracks! :)
