...or is that, "notebook"? Anyway, I love it!

Still in the process of setting it up and getting stuff over onto it from my other computers but I'm nearly there.

The set up laptop with Logitech gaming quality mouse, 320GB external hard drive and funky, double sided mouse pad.

My minimalist desktop

The very attractive Windows Media Player 11, just downloaded, it came with version 9.

and the same media player in skin mode - Alienware Invader.

The lid, showing the illuminated alien head! :alien: and the rubberised sections.

Isn't it just? It's all very "alieny". I've subscribed to a system where you can request tech help by sending them a message straight from the desktop. The laptop sends its current condition to them to help them analyse any probs. The program's name?... Alien Autopsy.

Never seen one of those before, stunning.

Yeah, they're a bit different. You can only order them online or by phone but you get to build it the way you want or can afford. This one started out at just under £700 but ended up being nearly £1300.

Well, I've been mainly using the two laptops I got from school (legitimately!) for the last few years. I reckoned I deserved a new one since the last one I bought was an Apple iBook in 1999!

You know, the one that looked like a handbag :lol:ibook.jpg

That one, seven years ago was £1200 with a printer so pretty good value, this one, I think.

I prefer to think of it as "retro"

Can't all be new, high tech kit, you know. :P
