hi everyone, not posted on here before but just sold my Honda Civic and purchased an 93 Starlet GT.

I am very pleased with the car although I am also experiencing the "kicking" described in another post.

My problem however lies in my stereo. When I came to wire it up I discovered all the wires were odd colours and I have no idea which one is which. I have managed to provide my stereo with a live ground and wire in some 6x9s using my own wiring for all. Not an ideal solution by any means. Could anyone shed any light on the colour coding of the wires? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Guys, another newbie here.

I have a Toyota Starlet out here in Uganda, great nippy little thing, ideal for the roads and leaves those lumbering 4x4 leviathons going through potholes whilst I drive around them.

Anyway, for A while I've been thinking doing something about the radio/cassette system. Being a Japanese import, we can only get FM up to 90MHz. On investigation, you need a retuner to downtune the incoming signal so the radio can sort it out. Not really worth the money, get a second hand radio cheaper.

But what I really want to do is get the iPod working with it. I've tried tape adaptors, but they tend to jam in the heat of the midday sun. Having extracted the radio and cassette player, the radio has cables going to the cassette player, and the cassette player then connects to the cars loom for Speakers and power. Now I think the diagram above shows the connectors from the cassette to the loom. What I need is the wiring from the radio into the cassette.

I intend to break the connection of the L+R audio (and earth) from the radio via a switched jack. Thus if the jack is not present, we get radio, but if you plug in a jack you get the iPod (assuming it connected to the other end!)

I've trawled around for a day or so, trying to find it, and this site came up with the only close info. Any further help would be so gratefully recieved.

Thanks in advance
