Don't Toyota recommend you use their own oil? I know most manufacturers would, but if you use Toyota transmission fluid then at least you have peace of mind :P

Hi... New to the Celica myself. I too have bought an 94' Celica GT Import and I too have the same problem where it change up to top gear untill it the engine gets warm. Is this normal or could there be an underlying problem with the auto box.

hi there

i had a new clutch put in by toyota in my 96 gt import and

the oil they put in the gearbox was there own gear oil which was a 75w90.

But for a auto box they use a dexron type 2 automatic transmission fluid. (ATF) duckhams uni-matic. it might be the selector cables need to be adjusted

My imported 94 Curren 2.0 auto also does this, I think its's just an inherent problem, if indeed it is a problem, please let me know if you find out any different though :D

I have a 2.0GT CElica st202 import but it is manual. However I also own a RAV4 which is auto and the manual says that the car will not shift in top gear before it is in normal working temperature... So it is not a problem it is the norm...
