could be a few things

1 clutch release bearing) if it is this it would also rattle at idle

2 faulty pressure plate assembly

3 pressure plate diaphragm spring broken

4 broken clutch disc cushioning springs

5 worn or dry clutch pedal bushes which i would check first

Mine does it after rain occasionally, its really annoying!!

To cure it I just spray WD-40 inside the cable mechanism, best bet is to get a mate to tap the pedal while you trace the noise - worked for me! :D

Mine used to squeak too (must be a common fault).

It now seems to have changed to an occassional rattle (like keys jangling) when changing gear on the move, heard more from the passenger side..weird.

Has anyone else had this?

Maybe this should be moved to the more technical area?

Catalitic converter? Should rattle on acceleration if its on its way out, mine does
