G6 Gaitor

ive currently put the g6 gaitor into my corolla 99 corolla SE and it seems that when i put it in 5th gear the lether gaitor pops off is there anyway of sorting this out?

I've done the same with my Corolla but don't have this problem. Maybe that's because I shortened by gear lever by about an inch

hmmm that must be it what did ya do to do that like?

the gaitor just over stretched when i put it in 5th ive tried removing the platic hold ring but the the gaitor just falls slightly

After shortening the gear stick I rethreaded the end, refixed the ring lower on the stick and then put the gaiter on and finished off with a TRD gear knob.

It maybe to do with the G6 having a shorter throw on its 6-speed gearbox.
