Hid Kits

hi guys,

i'll soon be fitting an HID kit to my corolla, however i am still unsure as to where to place the ballast kits, especially since the instructions ask you to mount them in a ventilated area...

i know some people in here did this conversion already, and thus i would like to kindly ask for some pics of your engine bay showing where you placed the ballasts.

thanks a lot beforehand.

Most of the kits I've seen have the ballasts mounted under the bonnet, usually by the strut tops. There's plenty of room under the hood and it's ventilated enough - just don't put them too close to anything hot and you should be fine !

that's great help illestjt....

i see you have an 8000K setup.... looks good. to be honest i was unsure on what to get (6000 or 8000k), but ended up getting the 6000k kit since most people suggested that. hope it'll make a good difference.

btw what side lights are you using? they seem much brighter than the ones i currently have.....

just a word of warning, if you install HID lights into a corolla they will invalidate your insurance and if the mot tester is eagle eyed they will fail it.

under EU regs, to have HID lights you must have:

1. A self levelling system installed

2. A light washer system

corollas don't have either. However, if i didn't get adequate performance from my lights. I'd wack 100W bulbs in!

Thats minor stuff my friend.

I'll see about the MOT in 3 years time LOL.

Overwise its just minor, no one will pick on these things.
