My mate & I did a mini service on the Seo today, changed the oil & filter & plugs, went to buy a new distributer cap & nearly fell through the floor when I heard the price: nearly £60 :o , & I have to specially order it! + £10 for the rotor arm!

Has anyone found one cheaper or do you think a Rolla or Sera or Starlet cap would fit & be cheaper?

There go my lowering plans!

you could try fensport not sure but they may have one for your car.

i had to go to the dealer when i had the 4a-ge in the rolla cos none of the motor factors in the area had one, £70 and thats with a 17.5% discount

I believe Sera and Starlet Turbo (which are the same) are different to Paseo

Ok thanks guys, guess I'll have to stomach it then...:crybaby:

Does it actually need changing? Distributor caps last a long time unless the terminals are badly corroded or the carbon brush is worn.

I'm not that great at these things but my mate rekons it does, it looks quite corroded.

As did the plugs, I have a feeling the garage didn't bother to change them when I last had a major service, even thought they said it was included & I said do whatever needs doing...

Might just forget my SH & have it done by a mechanic friend i can trust. <_<
