Drivers Side Window Strangeness

I've spent a fair bit of money on my CTS just recently - she was due a 3yr/30k service just before Christmas (got it done at a Nationwide Autocentre because the local Toyota garage were taking the :censor: ), got a couple of new tyres for the front, and she's just been in for her first MOT today which she passed with flying colours.

Anyway, I just noticed something odd at the weekend. When the drivers door is shut the window stops about an inch off being fully open. When the door is open though the window opens fully - weird!

I think the guide strips might be slightly out of alignment but I'm guessing it'll cost a fair bit to sort out if I take it to a Toyota dealer so I'm thinking of just living with it, not that big a deal anyway.

checked mine today whilst in drive through

My windows go all way down with door shut, I would take it back see what they have done unless of course it did this before service.

How much did you pay for the service at the Nationwide Autocentre?

I think it came to about 100 quid in total (it cost extra as I wanted the coolant replaced as per the maintenance schedule). Toyota were quoting around 200 for the same thing - bit of a liberty for an intermediate service if you ask me.

And Nationwide gave me a 20% off voucher for the MOT too which came in handy a couple of weeks back.

I'm thinking of taking the door panel off and seeing what the problem is with the window, I've got the Corolla repair manual and it looks quite straightforward. I found a tiny bit of one of those "earn money from home" spam business cards lodged just under the rubber seal the other day so I'm wondering now if the rest of it has somehow got wedged inside the mechanism.

It's not that big a problem anyway, just weird that the window open and closes fully when the door is open.

Well you lot are a bunch of clowns, haven't you noticed that the only thing that changes wen you open or close your door is the check strap goes in and out, it bends easy if you open the door with force, get new ones fitted or cheaper still wack them with a hammer right in the middle wen the door is fully open,

MUPPETS xxxx ;)
