Congrats on your new buy. Like you, my T3-X hatch (bought last September) was my first new purchase. After 8000 miles there is nothing to report in terms of faults, so I can't tell you what to watch out for! Mine's burnt zero oil in that time too.

I've had my t3x for 14 months coverd 8k in it and its been fine. Apart from a factory recall for a replacment steering shaft thats been the only trip i've taken to dealer. The car has just under 18k its 3 years old in september and has been a joy to own. Has for problems there is a slight issue of 1.8vvt-i's using oil but thats around the 40k ish mark before that starts. Mine was serviced by work in september and the oil level had not moved, but i'd only done 7k from its first service. MPG from the 1.8 is brill its better on fuel than my previous 1.4vvt-i corolla. On a run i can get just a shade below 50mpg.
