Getting Even More Miffed Off With Toyota

Right I am trying to calm myself down!

ever since i brought my Aygo within 2 weeks it had the engine management light on!!!

2 weeks to the day toyota had my car saying they would put a new engine in and put me on my way in a courtesy car!

well i have not heard anything off them, nothing at all so i just rang them. they say 'we are sorry toyota should have been in touch, we haven't started work on your car yet'

i was like you what!?!?!?!??!?

they went on to say that because it is a brand new car an Aygo has not been returned with this problem yet mines the first and toyota need to determine whether this is a fault within the factory or a malfunction within my car! the mechanics can't do any work until toyota have made a decision on what caused it.

i asked will it be ready the end of next week and he replyed ' at the very very very earliest it could be'

and they want me to take this courtesy car back becayse they said it will be dirty and not good advertisement for westlands toyota so they want to give me a 'better' car to advertise their company!!!!!

Hi Lucie, It's a pain, I know but as long as you're getting a company car from them, then that's at least something.

Who knows, maybe they'll give you something really special when you go back to them!

Hope it's all sorted soon.

Your not having much luck are you ?

I think they should pay for your petrol in the courtesy car as whatever it is it won't be as economical as Aygo.

Think you need to sit down with someone at the dealership and have a 'heres what I want for all my inconvenience' type conversation.

Just let them give you a NEW Aygo and have them sort out what they

want to do with the one in the shop on their own time and money...

I'd think that's reasonable for a product that's 2 weeks old and then

malfunctions... When you buy a vacuumcleaner in a store and it goes

defunct within its warranty you get a new onem they don't take their

time to see whats wrong as that's way less economical or convenient...

And if they do finally sort out what's wrong they can sell it as a

second hand or demo, but at least it's not your problem anymore...

From the sound of it, their Customer Service and communication skills aren't a good advert for Westlands Toyota !

Hope this all gets sorted soon for you !

thanks everyone.

i have been tempted to tell them to stuff their car, keep it and i want a new one, but mine has leather seats and the parking thingys and the ice blue metalic paint, and air con, it is like a good month or two waiting list to get one!!

i was told by toyota that i was the only person in the country with an aygo to this spec but dunno how true that is!

i just love my car sooooooooooooooooooo much

can i refuse to swap the courtesy car and keep the one i got for the time being.??????

everytime i go out in this car i have a £500 excess hanging over my head if the worst happens!!!

Leather Seats can be swapped over, it's just 4 bolts per seat

and a couple of plugs for the seatbelt and airbags.

Parking-thingies can be moved over quite easily too:

swap the rear bumper and move the electronics over.

The paint is a standard color, A/C is a standard

option, so I don't think that should be a problem...

Whatever happens, IMHO they SHOULD somehow compensate you...
