Heyyyyyyyyyy afew questions really, with the standard CD player, is there anywhere to plug an amp and subwoofer in? because im contemplating leaving the standerd CD player in(and getting a 6 CD changer :P...) but wondering if id be able to plug these in and also get some better parcel shelf Speakers?...

...Also just wondering when the 6 CD changer says MP3 CD's does that mean... 100 ish songs on a CD? because my mates got one that states that although it wont read the CD's? sortof annoying very much so lol...

...before you all think im stupid and rediculous for even thinking this lol the only reason im thinking it is therefore i wouldnt have redundant buttons on the dashboard which would just be stupid being there if i fitted an aftermarket CD player? thanks alot any help apriciated Adam...:)

hey adz,

I'm, going to put an aftermarket unit in mine, I plan to take out the old unit entirely (no redundant buttons) because you can buy fascias to fit the hole from toyota and an inner fascia from Halfords to fit an aftermarket unit neatly!

First i would upgrade the Speakers get some components in the front, tweeter in the dash other speaker in the door, and some 6x9's in a custom build rear shelf.

All done properly with sound proofing etc, then think about changing the head unit and then last of all upgrade it with an amp and sub, there is absolutly no point what so ever fitting an amp without doing the above it will sound pants.

I hate these posts that say "How can i fit an amp and sub to my standard system" why not just get a mate to sit in the boot and kick the side panels. LOL !!!

Maybe i'm wrong ?? or just having a bad day ?? seems pointless to me :D

Right well i have some components that i'm willing to sell you megger cheap, i just ordered some new ones and they are more or less a direct replacemnt for your door Speakers, they are 2-way sony xplodes, hopefully replacing them this weekend if the new ones have arrived.

What i did in the mean time is wire in some 6x9's on the front channels and put them into a parcel shelf, this is easy, and i have pioneer 6x9's just had to buy a new pair as i stuck a drill though one of mine £23.99 for the pair brand new off eBay.

Or you could buy a pair of 10cm sony eplode 2 ways to replace the dash Speakers so that you've only upgraded the standard Speakers.

Sony 10cm speakers

6x9's i have ordered

Components i bought to go in the doors

This looks like the speakers i have in my door at present.

Sony Speakers?! Good???

The answer is: NO!

I saw it my self. The standard Speakers are better than Sony ones...any Sony.

After I bought my 10cm Infinity for the dash, my father got for his car 2 Sony Speakers of 13 cm. And they sound awful. They are kind of years behind the Infinity. The Yaris standard ones, sounded better than Sony. Honestly.

Best speakers performance/price that you can find as far as I know and heard are MTX. Try get some, and you won't be dissapointed. Other that worth could be Infinity or DLS. Or also, but under Infinity (refering to quality) could be JBL or WCC. Dunno nothing about Pioneer or Clarion.

And forget the ideea of keeping the standard CD-Player. Keep money for an aftermarket headunit. I keep them 6 month and finally it worth it :D

Student to student mate:

Best bet is to first get a decent HU, as no matter how good your speaker set up is you will still be running it off 3 watt RMS standard HU.

Best headunits around are Alpine (No contest unless your spending thousands!) Any alpine unit will put a smile on your face!

Then put some decent component Speakers up front (with some dynomat or same as!) and some 6x9's in back with a wooden parcel shelf so it supports bass better.

Then if you are a typical student and want some more bass when you get bored put a sub in the boot.

But that order is definally best to do!

And dont put coaxials in the doors, i spent £70 on decent pair and they were not worth it!

Hope this helps!

Any tips on wiring or things to buy give me a buzz!
