I have a 1992 K reg Previa 2.4 which appears to have a very sensitive alarm! This problem first started about 4-6 weeks ago when the weather got colder/windier. There is no pattern to it, sometimes it doesn't go off for days then others several times a day/night. Our Local auto electrician says there is nothing I can do as it is connected to the engine and sets automatically. It's no joke especially on nights like tonight where eventually at 1.45am I had to leave the car unlocked - not a good solution - but the only one unless I want to really upset all the neighbours  .

The electrition says it is not a motion sensor alarm so I dont understand why the wind or cars/lorries speeding past is setting it off. Does anyone know if it's sensitivity can be adjusted?

I would really appreciate if anyone has any solutions or suggestions on how to deal with this.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe a bit late to respond BUT you haven't accidentally left a mobile phone in it have you? I find that when my phone makes contact (the funny noise you hear if it is by a radio) and I have laccidentally eft it in the glove box the alarm goes off.
