Had our 01 previa checked over by the local Toyota dealer as the MIL was on and has been for some time.

As the car is very hard to start in the morning, especially when the weathers wet, I was fearing bad news.

Turns out its only the MAF sensor causing the MIL.

Toyota want £100+ for a new sensor, which I don't mind paying, but was wondering if the sensor can be cleaned in the meantime? Going to be trading in for a landcruiser soon, so seems a shame to replace the MAF if it can be cleaned to fix the MIL.

THe maf cannot be cleaned as far as i know..

I used to own a mercedes which had a failed maf and at £365 a go.. tried in vain to see if there was anything that could have been done but sadly not.

Once the element goes, its time for a new one unless toyota are any different?
