Door Check Rod Snaped Off...

Hiya,

Because of the strong winds of this week our daughter couldn't hold the passenger front door. Result the door check rod snaped / broke off. They (my missus & daughter) managed to close the door again by pushing it with force.

Today I had a look at it and the end of the door at the hinges the door is bent a bit. :crybaby: Removed the door check bracket from the door post so the door is closing again without the need of any pressure.

My question is, is it difficult to repair this my self? I think I have to remove the inside door panel to replace the door check bracket of the door. Easy to do? Any advise?

Thanks,

Biton

IIRC the check strap comes out of the door when you remove the bolts holding it in , no need to take inner panel off.

There is NO way to get the check strap out without removing the inner panel off... If you remove the 2 bolts the door check assy (part# T68610-42040) will fall inside the door...
