mileage 77k cam belt changed at 60 no problems in 6 years of ownership anyone else same ?

2.0gls 1998, cam belt changed between 55&60k. bought car at 62k in april 2003 - now on 82k and touching wood, all ok. will red line nicely when needed.

1.8gs 1999 84k - no probs (bar norm mk1 probs steering rack, alarm, ignition) till last year, clutch, water pump (went after changing cambelt earlier on in year). After 5 years ownership still sounds smooth and quiet -ish!!

Had my Avensis SE estate 1.8 from new. (£11335 tax free in Germany). Still not changed timing belt and i'm on 93k.

At the 98 1.8, the cam timing belt isnt due to change before 150 000 km (ca 110k miles). I changed mine at 165000 km.

98 1.8GS Saloon bought with 40k on clock, 2 timing belts (60k & 120k), new water pump last year and just had the Air Con overhauled due to a blockage. Currently 130,000 miles. Apart from the water pump and air-con, no major issues in 5 years of ownership.
