Spent Almost £1000 And Still Not Fixed.....help Please

Firstly let me say HELLO as i'm new to this site.

:help: I have a problem with my Surf and it's prooving to be very expensive.

It started with the gears taking longer between changes, then one morning it lost the 4th change/overdrive altogether.

I have had the gearbox reconditioned/rebuilt with new parts and and tested to it's limits at a cost of £700.00

They didn't have the means to connect into the ECU so sent me to a Bosch diagnostics center in Park Royal,London. After they had the Surf for almost 3 hours they phoned me to say "we don't have the software for your vehicle" :censor: :censor: (something they could have told me B4 i drove all the way there in the morning rush hour) No charge!!!

I was then sent to another diagnostic center in Cheshunt, They said it was the 'Throttle Position Censor'.

Back to Toyota in Letchworth Garden City and ordered the part. 3 days later the part arrived-cost £91.00

Back to Cheshunt to have sensor fitted(2 hours)-cos £126.00

Meanwhile the fuel consumption has gone through the roof........

Has anyone had any similar problems or got any ideas about how to fix this problem????????

Also the garage that rebuilt the gear box say they can't check anything electrical without a wiring diagram,,If any one has a diagramm for a KZN130 Surf, I would be more than greatful

Cheers

Paul
