Problems And Concerns

I really like my new Avensis Tourer but I must admit that I am starting to have concerns about it :(

They are as follows:

1. When setting off for work in the morning the car seems to ‘judder’ a little for the first mile or so, presumably until the car has warmed up a little. Should this be happening on a 55 plate car?

2. The clutch creaks when it’s pressed. I’m sure this is a cosmetic problem rather than something mechanical, but it’s still annoying.

3. I want to upgrade my headlight bulbs to Philips X-Tremes, an easy job I thought!... But after reading numerous threads on here about melting bulb holders and condensation in the headlights I’m left wondering whether or not my car should be taken to the dealers to be checked out? How do I know if I have melted bulb holders or if my lights aren’t bright enough? I don’t have another Avensis to compare it to! Some people say condensation is inevitable, but others say it’s a problem. Now I’m confused whether to upgrade my bulbs or not. Please help! :)

To be honest, all this has left me a little disappointed with Toyota who have a reputation for being quality vehicles. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Your car should still be under warranty take it back to the dealer and he will change the headlights. They will not be any brighter but it will cure the condensation. This should also apply to your clutch problem and any other concerns you have. Also if you have alloys and they are corroding ask for them to be changed as well.

Having read the links to the Toyota technical links, are these fixes applied routinely with the services or only when needed? I've already had my headlamp units replaced with modified ones due to a flood in one of the units but my clutch is currently OK. Is this something that will fail at some point in the future and therefore best replaced as a preventative measure?
