cheers dark andrew. maybe a silly question, but does that mean it never requires a change, or is the fact its a chain just mean that its life is extended?

I read somewhere in my service manual it needs to be checked every 100,000 miles or 10 years whichever is sooner. Also the new facelifted avensis has been fitted with a new diesel line up and they all use timing chains.
