yadda, yadda, yadda.......im sorry for my rude context and swearing but seriously people grow up!

Now, surely you could have put up a much better counter point without the need for profanities?

At the end of the day we are each entitled to our own opinions, the way you expressed your's discreditted it from being an intellectual one and this has only been confirmed with that last post.

And "grow up", very, very hypocritical of you sir. I tend to find that those who resort to swearing and anger are most often wrong and have to redirect their point with aggression as they know their argument has no substance.

Do I apologise? Not one jot.

To be totally honest with you I'm glad someone like you is not driving around in a car like the T-Sport, for one it'll be a safer road. Secondly, if you honestly think that your 1litre GS is better than keep it, but just remember that as the T-Sport next to you shoots off into the distance and disappears around the first bend never to be seen again.

Happy driving, and please, invest in something like a Saxo VTR - much more your cup of tea.

Spelling hasn't improved then :P

I agree the 1.0 is much better than a t-sport... so if anyone would like to swap i'm willing to down grade :lol:

look i know your all entiteled to your own opinions and your entitled to that and im no A grade student but this is'ent the point all the other comments have pretty much belittled me and your taking my opinion as a personal attack on your self its an opinion not an excuse to start a war idiot.

*and please, invest in something like a Saxo VTR - much more your cup of tea.* first of all i dont drink tea second of all you must have no respect for driving at all coz the saxo is a load of ******* with the 1.6 rail engine with shoddy french eletrics you have no idea what sort of an insult that is to me so to you sir your a fine example of a cretin im not angry im very calm while writing this so your also wrong there aswell.

jrampton seriously give it a rest your brain must really be hurting as ive sed before thats my personal opinion of the t-sport yaris if you dont like it (yer following?) dont take it personally. (yer you got that?)

This young calgon fella seems a bit angry.

He's 18 so has been driving 1 full year at most. He knows next to nothing about driving and therefore doesn't have the skill to use the T Sport to it's full potential as it was designed to be used.

Having said that he was only test driving the car , probably with a salesperson sat next to him , and not having the confidence that comes with age he would have no doubt been slightly intimidated and not experienced the joys of keeping the revs above 4k in all gears or cornering at real speed.

The suspension is a little bumpy at low speeds but thats the compromise you have to make.

I'm sure he'll find that offensive if he reads it but that will make it no less true.

If he likes his 1.0 over a T Sport , good luck to him, let him enjoy his coming years of mediocre motoring in underpowered cars.

At the end of the day the T Sport is a great little warm hatch. It looks good , it handles well , driven properly it goes well , especially in the mid range. You love yours , he doesn't like it.

C'est la vie.

There are many ways and means of getting points across without resorting to personal attacks.

Why is it that the Yaris section seems to have the most issues with this type of reaction to these types of topics? If people don’t fit in with the norm then pack mentality comes into play to make sure you adhere to common practice and schools of thought.

For some of you who have mentioned his age need to step back and think about the average age of a Yaris owner on these forums. :!Removed!:

If you feel the chap is incorrect in some of the things he has states then ask him to clarify his point and then place a counter point to argue what you think. (sucking eggs comes to mind)

There are better things in life to get wound up over and although the chap didn’t come across in a constructive way does not entitle some of you to get some digs in at his expense.

Its almost like TOC is turning into a nursery.

Keep it up people… There aint no place like home… :!Removed!:

Which is exactally what I did in my first post, however, due to his - lets call them "kiddy" - ways he retorted with a post containing more profanities than probably the other posts in the section added together and gave a counter arguement of "yeah well, because I say so". You'll notice that other people have referenced it's pros (which are objective) to counter his cons (which are subjective). I'm affraid it's just not possible to have a civilized discussion with some-one like this young chap.

Any yes you are right, a nursery is a good analogy, especially when you get some young lad who thinks he's been around enough when it comes to driving cars to be able to say what is and what is not a "better" car.

Let's not forget that the 1litre GS is probably the first and only car (other than his driving instructers) he has ever driven properly. At his age the first car I drove was a 3litre twin turbo Supra, and I'm sure there are other members on here in a similar possition.

So let me put it another way, he is inexperienced and is well out of his depth if he thinks he has a right to criticise another car, especially when he is comparing bottom spec to top spec and an average car to a well renound good one.

Don't know about anyone else, but I for one am sorry that you feel so annoyed about the ribbing you have received. Some of it may have gone a bit far, but to be honest not that much has been any more harsh than your critique of the Yaris Tsport.

I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but to compare the 1ltr (I currently have a 1ltr GS) to the Tsport (Picking one up on Thursday  ) and come out thinking that the 1ltr is honestly a better car....

I also have to say that if you come on an owners club and in the section dedicated to a particular car trash the top spec model that a lot of long time members (Yes I know I aren't one, yet...) own then you're asking for trouble.

I know that you were annoyed at the treatment you received at the dealership you went to, but to come on here and take that anger out on members here is simply unfair.

Edit : Whoa! quite a few more replies! This took me about 25 mis to type as it crashed half way through so I'm sorry if I covered ground already gone over in the last half hour or so before this post.....

Calgon ,you can claim all the experience you like but at the end of the day 1 year of driving = no experience. I'm not trying to insult you so don't take it so personally. It's just a fact.

If you were constantly over 4k revs but never broke the speed limit you obviously never left 3rd gear or spent the entire time on the motorway.

I'm no boy racer myself , i'm well past the wrong side of 30. I was banned from driving at your age due to my lack of experience and learned from that punishment.

If you've been driving your Daddys Porsche at weekends you have obviously been lucky and spoiled with a nice car but that still doesn't mean you know it all. Again , not an attack , just a fact.

Fact's however are something I doubt you are familiar with as your previous post is rather inconsistent with them. (see above)

I understand you feel like you're being picked on but if you will go telling people who love a certain thing that you think it's the biggest pile of **** ever , you better be prepared for an equally frank response and take it like a man not a boy.

have a nice day. ;)

monkey alan can i please make a comment of im not spoilt my family work hard for what they've achived and baught so not spoilt just verly lucky.

Well on a quick skim of your posts in this topic you've called one person an idiot, at least one person a cretin and have also patronised one person, so yes you have made personal attacks.

But thats besides the point. I was at least partially on your side with regards to the treatment you received as some of was quite vitriolic.

All I was really trying to say is that "if you come on an owners club and in the section dedicated to a particular car trash the top spec model that a lot of long time members (Yes I know I aren't one, yet...) own then you're asking for trouble.".

Please can everyone including Calgon stop using personal attacks otherwise this thread will be locked.

Calgon - You have also told someone to sod off which aint exactly friendly. There are ways to conduct yourself especially when your on the end of a dig. Raise above it and donr resort to other people levels.

This whole thing has gotten way out of hand now so can't we ALL! just be grown ups and let this whole thing rest.

when i appologised i meant it. i know some of the digs have been a little harsh but i am also sure that most of the comments were simply made in jest and there was no intention to upset anyone.

at the end of the day i see it like this.

your first post was a 'little harsh' to put it nicely and some members who have spent alot of money on their cars didn't like it and so returned some comments that were below the belt and perhaps shouldn't of been said.

now if we can all just take a big deep breath and move on i'm sure we can just forget it as it is now in the past and in my opinion should be removed from this site as this isn't what TOC should be about.

so again calgon...

i am sorry if any comments that i have made upset you, now lets move on and start again.

brad =)

All it takes is for one person to come out with a personal attack and others jump on the bandwagon, this is totally uncalled for and If it was me who was attacked I would react to it too.. so I personally don't blame calgon for that, If it happened on the street would you walk away??? I wouldn't.

It was always going to be a risky topic.. slating a car the a lot of other members drive and love.. and calgon should have had his flame suit ready for dissagreements with his thoughts on the TS.. but I have never seen a flame suit built to withstand personall attacks.. so for that reason they need to stop.. and they stop now.
