Hi guys, I have a Hiace (2000 x reg) and the T-belt light popped up at 90k, however the belt had just been changed and I am guessing they didn't reset the switch on the light. Anyone know how to turn it off? I am looking to sell the van and that is the only problem that it has got.

hi if its a 2.2 diesel to reset light you remove the dash and there is a screw you remove on the dash and put into the hole next to it to reset the light.

its a 2.4, i'm guessing pretty much the same though? sounds stupid but how do I get the dash off? I can get the little fascia bit off where the blowers and stereo goes...but never managed to get the dash out

you should see some screws under dash also if yours is 2.4 then there is a small switch possibly instead of swapping screw but also behind the dash -speedo

I have a 96 Colorado which may be the same as yours in respect of the timing light. On mine you have to take the dash/speedo out. On the back of the speedo circuit board you may find a 'figure of 8' circuit with a cross head screw in one side of it. Swop the screw to the other side and reassemble.

No - I did not believe either but it works and I found later it appears in a trade book of resets at a local garage. This inf given to me by a TOC member originally.

If problems contact me and I will take you through it.
