light came on (yellow one on the bottom left hand side) so pulled up and checked the level, it was on low :

( whoops! filled it up and started her up, light was out so off i went... light came back on again

checked the level again and it was still full wtf! What i'm getting now is from cold the lights says off till she

warms up then comes on again, realy weird this. Does the light act as a oli prussure + level warning you

think? bleeding hope not :crybaby: It is slightly over due and oil change by 10k miles  got the oil filter

and oil in the boot waiting for the right time to get round to it

cheers for any help.

You should have 2 warning lights one of an oil can with a drip coming out of it, that's the low level light think it's yellow

and one red oil can light, that's the low oil pressure light...

Also might want to check the connection they can come lose, oil level sensor should be on the side of the oil pan, and pressure switch is in the side of the gearbox end of the cylinder head looks kinda like a grey plastic cog with a connector on the end.

Hope that helps ;)

cheers for the info. its the yellow so must just be the oil level thank god. Is strange as its on full and only comes on when hot. Maybe my oil filters got to cloged and corsing a flow issue or something. Giving it an oil change today so see what happends.

well just changed the oil and no change. Still comes on when it reaches operating temp. might have to replace the switch and see if that helps. anyone else had this problem?

The oil level sender is notoriously innacurate and prone to failing completely. Mine comes on after i've used about a quarter of a litre. New switch will cure it or you can just unplug the thing.

I've not had to buy one. But you can probably double that and add a bit. Like here. :(

WTF!! :ffs: no way, costs a bomb and it still goes wrong whats that all about! Now i know why i kept to vauxhalls for so meny years P well until they went to their crappy eco tec engines. Would cost about £24 from them. Right well think i'll be fudging the wiring so it thinks its working and keep a closer eye on the level from now on. Wonder if the senser can be cleaned up and fixed, might give it ago.
