Losing Water

I am having a problem with my W reg celica. Basically i am losing water but very slowly over a period of approx 1 to 2 weeks.

Also my heater stops working every now and then. This normally happens when i'm stationary but starts to throw out hot air again when i'm moving.

I took my car into Toyota three months ago because of this problem and they checked for leaks in the system etc and the obvious head gasket but couldn't find any thing wrong other then the fact my coolant level was low.

Unfortunatley i am still losing water and am not really willing to pay Toyata £90 per hour to find what the issue is for them to turn round and say nothing is wrong.

Does anyone have any ideas because i'm at a loss.

well your heater goes cold due to that being the highest point of the cooling system thats the first indication your water level is down then as you drive revs obviosly go up and pumps the water back through the heater .check your carpets arn,t wet inside the car indicating the heater matrix leaking .then the usual visual checks of hoses and radiators especialy around the corners and hose connections.next possibly around the cambelt area for possible leaks on the water pump see how you go with that for now
