Wow! I just had a look on the toyota site in the used car section and they already have quite a few used Aurii listed. Mostly 1.6 petrols but there is one 2.0 D4D :D

Posted

Yup just had a look myself this morning and returned 14 results... interestingly are the prices they are quoting... I understand this isn't neccesarily the price you would pay but still. Take this as an example:

On the toyota site a second hand 56 plate 2.0 D4D T-spirit 434miles on the clock £16,495

My car brand new 07 plate 2.0 D4D T-Spirit 0 miles +Tech +Style +protection £17,100

Price difference about £600

I did think the prices were a bit high. I didn't know what the new prices were but thought the 1.6 was around £14k and the 2.0 was about £17k. The prices on their Used Car site really aren't very true to market value though. I was looking at Corolla Sports yetserday for someone on the forum and noticed that a car with the same reg (03) and very similar miles to mine is the same price as I paid and I've had mine for 14 months now. So they should definitely be open to a hack n slash in the price department if anyone considered buying one.

In all honesty., my Auris should have cost more but I got 10% off plus they threw in a few little odds n sods, like floor mats and boot liner. But still, all my extra options come to about £1,440 odd so they would need to knock off at least another £1,000 to make it worth while... even then you would only be savin a few hundred quid for a 56 plate with 434 miles on the clock. When I bought the Auris, Ben (my salesman for the day :) ) did say that the you really didn't save that much money between a new car and ex-demo... the only benefit was the fact you could drive the ex-demo that day.

I still haven't heard from my Mr T, they said they would contact me as soon as the car arrived, so I could finish the paperwork, and then they would give me a delivery date... but nothing as yet... I'm getting worried I won't get my car on the 1st :( They courtesy car has to back on the 28th (as the road tax runs out on the 28th lol)... if I return the car and mine isn't ready I'm going to haggle for a different courtesy car.. maybe a Rav4??

I've just driven past the local Toyota garage, saw loads of new cars there, I decided to pull in to have a look around. All were 07 registered plates, but only one Auris there...........it wasn't mine :( I guess it could be still at the processing centre, or maybe it's inside the compound, getting some TLC, keeping it dry from the ailments, after all, it's has been at sea for a few weeks ;)

Will give Mrs T a call tomorrow I think.

Man that new car smell, even with all doors closed was sooooooooooooooooooooo niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Posted

Less than 6 days to go now Kian... woop woop :D :yahoo:

I know what you mean about that new car smell... I was plesently surprised to smell it in the courtesy car they gave me and this car is almost 6 months old and has done over 2,500miles... and yet, everytime I get in to it I can smell.... 'New Car'!!! Maybe they have developed a 'New Car Smell' airfreshner and we don't know about it... I want one!!

I'll bet it was inside getting much love from all the T staff :) Having it's wheels waxed, windows polished and generally made to feel really good about itself :D

Grrr... I'm so going to call Mr T today and find out what the hell is going on... they haven't even told me about my Corolla... whats happining with it... did I really blow the gearbox or was it a CV joint! Oh well... as long as what ever happened I don't have to pay for it lol

Hi G,

Thanks. Apparently the techpack in the TR is not standard, according to the website, I managed to get the diamond bright done as I initially went in on the Saturday, and said I would go back the day after, when I got home I looked online for this, but I found something called Supaguard or something along the line. The online price was around £150, so went back and said to Mr. T that I wasn't interested in it as I could get it done cheaper, (Same went for the GAP) he asked where, so gave the website details...he said, hmm well ok let's see if we can beat that...he did some calculations and said how about if we throw it in at no extra cost, would I be interested then..obviously I agreed!!

I opted to wait a few more weeks and go for the 07 reg, didn't seem right buying a 56 reg when I could get the 07 same price.

I called Mr T on Friday to confirm that it would be delivered on the 1st March, but cannot confirm this and wont be able to confirm until around the 2nd week of Feb.

I ordered my Auris towards the end of jan with a projected 2nd March delivery date because the MOT on my 02 golf ran out on that day. They said they couldn't tell me util Feb 7th for sure what the delivery date would be. That day it became the 5th. They did decide to mot my golf for me (thank you) so that the timeline wasn't so desperate. It should now be ready on the 7th March and I have finally managed to find out what colour the interior is! Hooray it's dark! I'm really looking forward to getting my new car, only got free mats though but I did get a much better trade in on my gti, almost another £1000 over what the golf garage offered me, but a few hundred over the parkers price! I don't think VW want to sell golfs anymore!!

So Kian if you see another dark grey metallic one driving around farnborough with an older lady in it, it'll probably be me because that where I work!

I'll be sure to sound my horn and wave! lol. Did you order yours from Inchcape with you being in Sandhurst? can you remember what date in Jan you ordered? mine was the 21st. Been speaking to jeanette alot in Admin, she's been giving the updates, but has been off this last week on hols. I hope I'm not being fibbed to being told that it will be ready for collection on the 1st at 08:30am! my tax runs out on my clio the day before, and have organised to leave the car parked in their car park after I finish work.

I drive through Sadnhurst a lot, as I work in Bracknell, usually take the A3095, but if that is packed, I usually go through Sandhust and Crowthorn.

Kian

Just been to Toyota, they are expecting another shipment of cars from the processing centre on Monday or Tuesday, and have had no hold ups in orders. So it's still on for 0830 on Thursday Whooo Hooooooo!

Awwwwwww.....But Arghhhhhhhh

I called Mrs Admin at Tland, she told me that the pre delivery centre did not get my car until......TODAY!!!!!!!!!! WTF not to worry though, they are getting it pushed through the system and it's a definate collection date on the 1st March :) whoo hoo for me.

I have no idea what the hold up was, Jeanette had been on Holiday all last week, just checked messages Sales guy has confirmed it also.......3.5 days to go.

Them prices are way expensive.....won't get anything done with them.

The pre-delivery centre? I'm confused, so the car goes from the place it's manafactured to a pre-delivery centre, then it goes to your dealership... is that right?? Lol.... ye woohoo for you ;) Well I may still get it on the 1st then. Do you know where this pre-delivery centre is??

Yes those prices are ridiculous.... they will really have to drop those prices to get any interest, but then over time maybe other companys will release kits (and then they would have to drop their prices) or maybe a company in the UK will buy bulk from them and supply here in the UK... who knows.

The first thing I'm going to get done are the windows, in June, then the side skirts... and then I'll go from there really.

Good luck for the 1st Kian!!

Thanks G,

It's such a waiting game. I feel the sales chap has not been very helpful, he could have told me that there was a delay I've had to book holidays etc from work, Just hope it will be here when they say.

I think I should ask for a reduction in the price a full tank of fuel, all these mods when they are released too....yeah right, I can just imagine their reply begins with F ends in Off!!!

Auris is getting delivered to my Mr T tomorow (Wednesday) woooohooooo :yahoo: So I'll head down there, finish the paperwork and find out exactly when I can drive it away... hopefully that day.. But I doubt it :( :crybaby: But hey.... I've waited this long... come on you beuty!!!!

Only a couple more days eh Kian :D :D :yahoo::yahoo:

Lol... try it.... you never know... you might get a discount lol. have you spoken to Mr T about the TTE parts yet? I'm going to speak to them tomorow and ask them to get prices in (even though it's going to be a while before I purchase them, still a good idea to know how much I'll have to save up)

Wishful thinking on driving away tomorrow for a March reg...it's stil Feb!!

I've not asked him yet, will wait until I go there to leave my car tomorrow night and ask then.

the wait is almost over whoooooooo

Posted

Oh pants... is '07' a March plate... for some reason I thought it was Feb the changed lmao :D Oh well I guess I will have to wait till March then :crybaby: Maybe it's worth trying... I know the car can still be drivin on a dealership plate... hmmm.... Ye I can see that happening.

I know.. time really has flown... it doens't seem that long ago I was complaining about how far away March seemed, and now, here it is... woop woop. We should have Auris meets... cruise round showing off our super cool cars that no1 else owns lol ;)

I want to know if the moderator is going to set up a gallery area like there is in the Corolla Section?? I also think he should pin this topic as there's some usefull info in here??

G

EDIT: Just thought... maybe Kian and I could become moderators of the Auris section??? We do most of the posting on here???

Posted

Well you can start a gallery thread yourself and then just ask an admin to pin it for you.

I'm sure once April comes around you'll see more activity here as a lot of people seem to be waiting for the T180

I also think he should pin this topic as there's some usefull info in here??

You probably have more chance of getting a topic pinned if it cuts right to the chace and only has links to companies selling aftermarket Auris bits as well as part numbers etc. No one wants so sift through lots of background chatter in order to find some relevant info ;)

Posted

Cheers MiniMarc, I'll bear that in mind. How do I ask the Administrator to pin something??

Yes I should imagine the T180 will be very popular, I would like to have got it myself... but I haven't even been driving for a year yet... so maybe a little bit too much poke for me :( But I think in three years time, when it comes to change the Auris, I am so going for the new Celica/Supra :D

G

Once you've created the thread, just pick an admin to hassle and if they deem you and your thread worthy enough they'll probably pin it for you :) It'll probably help if you actually have some pics in the thread first ;)

Good luck buying a new Celica/Supra in 3 years time mate - seeing as Toyota no longer make them for the UK :(

Posted

I know they have stopped making them... I'm taking about the Brand New Deisel Hybrid Celice/Supra... it's only a concept at the moment, but they plan to release it next year. Haven't you seen any info on it.... very nice!! :D

Cheers.. will do!

Nope, not really been paying attention to Toyota recently as I find their direction very strange right now. I can understand the whole Tree Hugging Hippy thing that big corporations are on these days to try and improve public perception but they have now killed off all of their sporty cars. So when I come to replace my cts, I doubt I'll be knocking on Mr T's door.
