Kian.... there seems to be some discrepencies between dealerships here.... my Mr T said it would take 2-3 days once the car was delivered to prep it, yet your car hadn't arrived yesterday and yet they are saying it will be ready by 5pm tonight?? Is this right??

I certainly hope you do get your car soon Kian... would be nice if someone got their car lol

They said it went to Brooklands for Prepping?!? and last minute checks, but have to put the protection stuff on at the dealership?!?!? anyone who can shed any light on this, please let us know.

As for the toyota prices. Hope this works and is viewable....

Yup its worked fine Kian... cheers for that!

Do let us know if you pick your car up tonight... or maybe you'll be too busy driving and playing with all your new toys lol ;) :D

It would be nice if someone could explain this a little better... I know some of the other forums have people who work for Toyota writing on them.... but it seems we are not so lucky :(

Thanks guys....The car is great, found it a little strange at first, havign to get used to having no clutch pedal argh, it was like I had just got into a car for the very first time lol.

I decided to stay with Admiral, as I have got a few more months left, thought I might as well asw stay and get an extra no years no claim under my belt.

The cheapest I found for me was £435 for 12 months (Admiral £36.25 a month) or £383.08 for 10 months ( £38.31 Elephant) this would be £459.72 for 12 months goodness knows why...they are the same company.

oh well...

I will post some pics later of my Auris. I cant get the hang of the handsfree phone thingy, you say a command "phone voice tag" this then activates your phone in voice tag mode....my phone is a Nokia N80 and automatically stores voice tags with a computer voice just like Stephen Hawkins, so when I say a name the phone thinks I have said something completely different and dials them. how annoying.

Kian... your online... OMG :D

Oooo... you have to tell me more about the bluetooth... and hows does the iPod integration kit work? Sorry... but I don't have my toys to play with yet :( I need to know lol :D Tell me more.. tell me more

So are you going to be the next Nigel Mansel then? :D

I haven't even looked at Insurance yet, did you check what Toyota would charge you? Might aswell get that extra NCB.. it all counts.

Yup I'm online lol, have to wait for a delivery before I can go out. Maybe not a Nigel Mansel, but hey who knows, I've not really used the paddels on the wheel yet.

I kept looking online at Toyota insurance, but they still have no Auris for quotes pah!

The iPod intergration is simply a cable plugged into the back of the stereo and the other end plugs into the bottom of the iPod, switch the stereo over to 'CD' and away you go.

I can't say too much yet about the bluetooth, still need to get the hang of it, although there is this stupid American females voice telling you what you can and can't do.

I got annoyed with it and said the word that begins with F and ends in OFF the voice then said "Good Bye" oh how I chuckled. :P

Posted

Hahaha.... I'm sure you did more than chuckle, at least they got one thing right... so the key word is F and off.. I'll remember that :D Hmm.. yes the bluetooth should be fun to play with then :D

Lol... well I know its just a cable, what I meant was how does it integrate with the iPod.. I.E. do you choose playlists, or albums, or artists?? How well does it work with the iPod?

You haven't used the padels.. so how have you been changing gear? I haven't seen an MMT, let alone know how it works doh

Damn Toyota... how the hell can they be so slow about the Auris... idiots or what!! I'm really looking forward to seeing your picys

I've figured you can jump from playlists, recently added, recently played. I still need to (here's and old word) Fathom out the full controls.

So anyway heres some pics.....

Lol, have you not called your Mr. T? be persistant, I was lol. did you notice the 'wonky TOYOTA' lol woner how long before that is sorted?

Oh as for the prices for services, I didn't take the payment thingy...the first or intermitant service will be about £85, can't remember what they said for the full service, but can't see it being more than £300 at the most. I will enquire closer to the time.

I've not seen any 07 yet but about 8 were taken from my Mr T yesterday

Posted

Well I thought I would give them till 3 and see if they call me, then I will phone them and give them an earfull for not contacting me :D

Ooo wonky toyota Badge, ya know.. I didn't really notice, but now that you have pointed it out  Well phone them everyday asking when it will be sorted and I'm sure they will get the message ;) :D

How much? £300 for a full service... no way hosay. I never payed that on my Corolla and it's had two services, I certainly hope it won't cost that much... grr.. I want to spend the money on TTE parts lol

8?? Were they are Auris's?? Sounds like your dealership were very busy indeed.

Okay, got a message from G79. I’ve quickly scanned through the thread and tried to pick out the issue – exact delivery dates seems to be it.

Well, the bad news is I cannot really help you there. What I can do is say that your dealer is probably doing all they can.

The problem is that so many people want a car in March because of the number plate change that we have to prep and deliver over 20 thousand cars to dealers and it can’t all happen on the 1st of the month.

The best people to help you are the dealers so please stay in close touch with them. I can understand the frustration, but you’ll have the car for years to come.

Posted

Thank you for your reply Toyota PR :)

I'm just still a little confused as to how one dealership can take delivery of a car and then the owner can pick it up the same day, where as another dealership state it will take 2 - 3 days from delivery before it can be picked up?

I will be phoning my dealership in the next hour or so, so fingers crossed it has arrived, if it hasn't, this will be the second time they claim it will have been delivered by and will have let me down. I can understand that you have to ship a large quanitity of vehicles to the dealerships, and as such do not always meet deadlines, but it seems to me, that I only find out the very day it is supposed to be delivered, it would be nice to know a little bit more in advance.

Many Thanks

Just spoke with MR T and guess what... it's been delayed AGAIN! Now they are saying it won't arrive till the 6th.. I waiting for a phone call back to explain why this is happening and I can tell you I am :censor: :censor: :ffs: :ffs: Not Happy!!!!

I am strongly considering taking my business else where!!

Sorry for ranting

Hey you're entitled to be annoyed over this - it's not like you're buying a packet of chewing gum. This is an expensive purchase and to be constantly let down like this is out of order.

I really hope they come back with a satisfactory reason as I would have blown my fuse with them.

Posted

Thank you MiniMarc.

Just had a phone call back and now it's the 8th! Their reason is simply they were caught with their pants down, they had so many ordered and they could not cope with the volume, and because mine is a T-Spirit with 3 extra options... if it had been a TR I may have got it sooner.

I really don't know what to do about this, he offered a courtesy car, but then in the same breath mentioned there are other people that need cars.. I hate being a nice person.. I should just demand a Auris to drive till mine is ready... but then I'd be taking it from someone else :ffs: :ffs:

Feelin really low and very dissapointed about this whole thing!

G

EDIT: I've just been running through the convo in my head, and I just realised he said it might be the 8th... so I may very well be getting another call saying its been delayed again.... I've made my mind up.. if it's delayed again I will tell them not to bother.. and I'm going to buy a Mazda.
