Hey all

Anyone evar experienced water leaking into the drivers footwell on an st205.

Its been an ongoing problem, with lots of money spent, and to no avail.

Just thought maybe it was a common fault.

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks

  • 2 weeks later...

I got ****** off with it the end and took it to the garage. They stripped the interior and found a gromet that had been holed in the past. They've apparantly fixed the problem now. We'll see

i bought a 98 jap gt4 in november, after a couple of week i noticed the same problem, there was pools of water in the drivers footwell.

my problem was a grommet that sits behind the splash guard on drivers front wheel. it took ages to find it but i took off the kick panel and sil panel and pulled back the carpet. ifyou look up under where the kick panel is removed you can see the grommet up between the wires. follow the bonnet pull cord as this goes through it.

on mine when i poured the water from the outside it ran down the run off under the wipers and down inside the wing, it was flowing on the bonnet pull cord (between the splash guard and the valance) and in throuhg the grommet into the car.

take the wheel off and take down the splash guard and tackel it from that side, its easier even though there still isnt much room behind here either.

i put a load of sealer in the grommet and packed it in tight, when this dried i put an underbody sealer and dried out the carpet.

luckily i havent had any water since.

Could be the same grommet, was apparantly holed in the past for an old alarm or something, and the water did seem to come in that way, cos you could see were it had been running under the drivers carpet.

I blame some dodgy japanese alarm fitter :)
