Sounds like he's trying to flog old stock to <_<

I'm sure that the diesel is the quickest out of the lot .... and you can chip it ;)

But as i'm sure you know you have to do alot of miles to make it worth while, although it does seem that everything is going diesel ;)

What he said is rubbish and like Moffmo said I can't understand why ???

I would take your business elsewhere if I was you and ignore the "diesels gonna break" talk

Let us know how you get on

Yep, sounds like dealer BS to me...

The only thing I can think of that would make him say that is that some (very few) of the very first 1.4 D-4D engines had an issue with the cylinder head gasket, but that was fixed a number of years ago.

As I said yesterday; Hilux, Land Cruisers, RAVs and Yari - we have them all. Some of them spend their time on the motorways racking up miles, some tow loaded trailers around the hills of Perthshire and some spend their lives doing 15 miles of what most people would describe as "off-roading" into mines 6 days a week. They're all maintained properly and, guess what, none of them have broken.

Decided to try my luck just a bit out of London. Dealership very helpful, not pushy, received slightly better deal all around. Test drive was fine, so ordered on the day. Now find it hard to wait 3-4 weeks for the delivery!

Thanks for all the advice.
